Health policy analyses
Health policy analysis involves evaluating and comparing healthcare policies to assess their effectiveness, efficiency, and equity. It examines the impact on healthcare outcomes, costs, and access, guiding decision-making for improving public health systems and the delivery of healthcare.
Our services include:
- Patient Preferences: NIHE work with clinical experts and patient organisations to improve knowledge of patients’ opinions, preferences, and experiences with healthcare systems. Professor Lars Holger Ehlers was responsible for the development of the Danish EQ-5D value set and has a long research experience in health-related quality of life investigations in patients and citizens.
- Healthcare Policy Mapping: NIHE conducts comparative mappings of healthcare policies and practices, offering a clear overview of frameworks, regulations, and key stakeholders in European healthcare.
- Reviews: NIHE performs systematic reviews, rigorously evaluating existing research and evidence to provide a solid foundation for policy recommendations.
- Analytical Reports: By collecting and analyzing extensive data and evidence, NIHE illustrate patients’ access to treatments, the epidemiological and financial burden of diseases, and the impact of different types of barriers to treatment. Our reports discuss how investments in care can improve outcomes and affect costs.
NIHE’s health policy analyses can shape policies to increase impact and alignment with healthcare policy and practice.
